Scouting for Food Drive is Saturday, March 28, 2009.

This one-day food drive is run by your local Scout Council who encourages all Utahns to donate food/money to support their local food bank.

Look for the bag on your door the week of March 21st. The drop off locations for the food is different in each area of the state. Jiffy Lube is NOT a drop off location for this food drive. Do NOT take your food to Jiffy Lube.

At your food bank, your food donations form the backbone of the organization. With the help of the food and hospitality industries, businesses, worship centers and individuals, we recover excess food to distribute to families and to member nonprofit feeding programs.

The food bank network in Utah distributes millions of pounds of food each year to families in need and through other local organizations.  As effective as this network is, we continue to seek opportunities to build partnerships in the community to end hunger in Utah.
 
To accomplish our purpose, the regional food banks together focus on strengthening our network, increasing the visibility of local food banks and pantries, sharing food resources, and influencing public policy.
